How could this happen?! She was not well, but she was stable, and the healers were certain she would live to be twenty-five, and perhaps even thirty, if we were lucky. And now, now she's on death's doorstep because Caroline can't ever just accept reality.
And Dillon of Rowan here with the rest of them, as if we needed yet another dog here to nip at our heels.
What do we do? What can we do?
